Steel Hooping, First Quality
This is the standard for hooping a tutu.
Works great for Angel costumes and much more!
2 pieces of 1/8" spring steel, encased in 2 layers of strong white canvas, or in white plastic.
Overall width is 1/2".
Can be used 'as-is', or split into 2 strips to use for classical tutus.
Either covering is easily colored to match your fabric and hide the hooping from view,
use fabric-paint for the canvas, and plastic-paint for the plastic.
And either style gets the job done - it's mostly a matter of costumer's preference.
But, we have found that in very humid conditions, the canvas may tend to peel away,
whereas the plastic will not (obviously).

Nylon-Rod Hooping,
We use this rod for lots of different costuming tasks, most notably to create our
'Contemporary' Tutus.
3/16-inch in diameter, it's light-weight, and very strong.
It has no metal, so no rust, and it can be easily bent into shapes and then just bent back again.
The ends can be glued together, or even fused together with a household butane-torch (SAFETY ALERT! Open Flame! Extreme Caution!) - the join is very strong.
For Classical tutus, we simply cross-over the ends a few inches and tape them together - that way it's adjustable if needed.
For other uses, we either fuse the ends, or use a short plastic connector with just a bit of E6000 glue for a permanent hold.
The Connector is sold in a 12-inch length, just cut it into 1/2-inch pieces.
The rod and connector can be painted with plastic-paint to match your fabric and help hide the hooping from view.

Continuous Steel Spiral Boning, 1/4"-wide (6mm) - First Quality
Need custom bone sizes? Need lots of bones in many sizes?
Continuous boning by-the-roll can often be much more economical than
pre-sized and pre-tipped bones.
Just cut to length and add the tips yourself.
Although usually sold by the pound, we also offer precut lengths.
A 1 pound roll = approx 50 feet or 16.67 yards

Boning Tips, for 1/4"-wide (6mm) Steel Spiral Boning
Working with continuous boning, or cutting standard bones to off-sizes?
You need to 'tip' them so they don't cut the fabric (or the dancer!).
Tips are U-shaped pieces of steel crimped to the bone ends with pliers.
1 pound = about 23 gross or about 3300 pieces

Rigelene
A thin and flexible woven polyester boning, Rigelene is a time-saving substitute for spiral-steel bones.
It is easily cut-to-fit to the lengths you need, and can be sewn directly to the bodice or corset fabric, or inserted into a bone casing.
