Prima Soft's exclusive, technically-correct, and quiet "Perfect Placement Box" aligns the toes straight down into the toes box to create an exceptional center of balance, and allows the dancer to stand directly 'on pointe' on the tips of her toes in the box, and not 'knuckled over' into the vamp, thereby giving her an exceptional connection with the floor. Dancing on the vamp causes the toes to settle into the upper part of the vamp, or 'knuckle over', totally destroying any balance and placement the dancer may have.

With the Prima Soft "Graduated Memory Shank", the dancer can find true balance without feeling 'propped up'. The shank comes back to shape each time the dancer transitions from pointe to flat, encouraging the use of the metatarsal and helping strengthen the feet. The support of the shank is strongest under the metatarsal, and gradually decreases toward the heel area. The amount of graduation is unique to each particular shoe and it's need for support. There's no need to cut the shank down to 3/4.
